Family Ride to Mindanao - The Return Back Home

As I have stated on my last blog, we were going to leave Mindanao on October 5, 2015. Our ship's schedule was 3:30AM, an Aleson Ship. We woke up with the alarm screaming at 2:30AM. Our bags were all packed the night before. But it was raining. We didn't have time to wait because if we did, we might miss our sail. So we wrapped ourselves with our raincoats and prepared Mesha. That time, we rode in the rain (with raincoats).

I bid goodbye to my uncle, his family were still asleep. On our way, we didn't bother to take photos because the rain was a bit hard. The ride was a little difficult because it was raining hard and the road was dark. Even my all weather headlight couldn't make it through so our pace was slow. We reached the port at 3:05AM. I immediately paid the CPA and then went aboard the ship. There were only a few people in the ship.

Once we were on the ship, we continued our ride, to dreamland, of course. It was still raining hard even on the sea. We woke up passed 7AM. The ship was supposed to arrive at Dumaguete Port at 7:30AM. We still couldn't see Dumaguete so we thought we might dock a little late.

With our stomachs hungry, we found this clean canteen at the ship. We had our "pampainit" there. Checkout the second picture, do you agree? Hehehe.. Saw it at the canteen of the ship.

Then, we heard a loud honk from the ship and it was time to dock. We were able to arrive at Dumaguete at 8:10AM, almost an hour late, probably because of the rain and bad weather but in Dumaguete, there was no sign of rain and the ground was dry.

We planned that we should be home early, preferably afternoon so we didn't waste any time and we proceed immediately to Sibulan Port. We reached the port at 8:45AM and there was a trip for 9AM, exactly what we wanted.

No we didn't bring any garbage from Mindanao (pic above). We used garbage bag so our big bag would not get wet from the rain. We didn't bother to take it out. Once on the ship, we ate some bread to fill our tummies and after that, picture-picture. Hehe.

Around 9:20AM, we heard the ship's honk and we saw that we are only a few minutes to dock.

Can you spot our Mesha? Hehehe. Funny how my daughter was able to get inside the ship's crew's cabin. We didn't know it but she was able to take a selfie right on the captain's wheels. Hahaha!

And at 9:45AM, our feet were once again stepping in Cebu.

We were still 150 kilometers away from home but in a broad daylight and no signs of rain, we were optimistic we would be able to reach home before lunchtime. We rode off at exactly 10AM. We did no stops as well because we were excited to get home. We reached Consolacion, Cebu at 12:50NN just in time for lunch. My wife wanted to cook at home, she wasn't as tired as I was.

So that's it, our budget-limited family ride to Mindanao. Hopefully next time, we would be able to visit my relatives there.

Ride Safe! Ride Scoopy! Godspeed!
