First of all, this adventure was ended abruptly due to a new project that I am into now BUT I did finish the application. I just did not blog about it because I need to be able to start another project and I don't have time to blog my adventure. However, I write this short post to let you know that I was able to do it.

JS Adventure: Creating a Desktop App - Part 2
In the previous post, we talked about how I got the idea of building a desktop application using JavaScript/HTML/CSS as well as the basic requirements for our application. In this post, we are going to setup our development environment and create the basic HTML, CSS and bootstrap script to begin.

JS Adventure: Creating a Desktop App - Part 1
Yes, you read the title right. We are going to create a desktop application (which is a windows desktop app for now) that will be coded with javascript, HTML and CSS but without additional frameworks and runtimes (like Adobe Air) from a "regular" windows PC. All you need is just internet explorer and we can proceed. I have done my research on this and that is why I am confident that we can build one. It may not be as powerful, fast and feature-rich against its contemporaries but this is a good way to learn more and share knowledge about javascript, HTML and CSS and at the end of it all, we will also have a nice product that is useful (at least for me).

Redcat's MyExpenses - Android Budget App
This is a very simple utility that helps you calculate your expenses like your budget, grocery list or any other list of things that you spend your hard-earned money on.
I was looking for an app in play store for budgeting and there are a lot of great budgeting apps there but they are too serious and complicated. I don't need to track my budget (gives me headache), I just need to know how much I will spend until the next pay day (being a salary man) or the cost of the next groceries.

Playlist Copier (Sort Of)
Today, my wife wanted to copy her music files from our PC to her android phone. Instead of selecting her favorites again from our music database which is quite tedious, she asked me if I can just copy the items based from her playlist (windows media playlist -- WPL) to her phone.

.NET Search and Replace Dialog
I was tasked to enhance an existing application. The feature that was wanted was a search and replace dialog like the one in notepad. The notepad search and replace dialog is quite simple and maybe I'll just create a clone for that immediately but then I thought .NET would have a "built-in" dialog for this that I can just call. I checked my VS 2005 (at my office -- yeah we're still old school :[ ) if there is one somewhere in the common dialogs.

Lyricist -- A Media Player with Synchronized Lyrics
This is a small (and lightweight - memory-wise) audio player application. The idea pops out when I was listening to my favorite songs on MediaMonkey , the free version and I was also looking (or glancing) at times at its lyrics on a website (I don't actually sing but I bet you can relate).
