August 24, 2014. Our last day in Bohol. I couldn't believe that time passed us by so quickly. It was like only yesterday that we just arrived in Bohol. We could extend and have another go round at the beaches of Panglao Island but we found out our budget won't let us do it. Hahaha! But we can still do more on this day before heading back to Cebu. So without further blah-blah, let's start with the first trip of the last day of Bohol, the Mag-aso Falls in Antequera, Bohol.

Mag-aso Falls is located in Brgy. Mag-aso, Antequera.  It's usually not included in the itineraries offered by various travel tour packages maybe because it's located far from the countryside spots. Mag-aso Falls got its name from the local dialect aso (smoke).  I heard that the water current of the water in the early morning is so strong that it produces mists slightly obscuring your sight of the 25-ft twin falls. We arrived there at around 8-9 in the morning so we saw no mists. Speaking of mists, Mantayupan Falls in Barili, Cebu has mists all day. :)
You pay 20/adult, 10/child at the entrance. It was a Sunday and we expected to see a lot of people but there were only a few, 2 bikers (folding bikes) and a family with a foreigner. When you reached the entrance to the falls itself (second picture above), you'll have to climb down the stairs of 197 steps. Yup, that many, hahaha! I was catching my breath every now and then during that and sometimes I thought I was already hyperventilating, oh, anxiety, please not this time. lolz..

But when you reach the falls, Wow! Just Wow! :)
The water was clear, cold and very inviting and so my daughter couldn't wait to get wet.
We didn't stayed for long because this was our last day in Bohol and we still have to meet my officemate. He is from Bohol and he invited us to have lunch at his place in Catigbian. Who would resist a lunch serving Native Chicken? :) Final look at the falls.
After that, we planned to meet my officemate in Catigbian. We asked the locals on how to get there and they were friendly to show us the way while warning us that it's going to be a rough ride because most of the roads were still under construction. So lot's of stones and gravels instead of smooth cement, asphalt or tarmac. We travelled via San Isidro. It was supposed to be somewhere like a 30 minute ride (less than 30km) but it took us more than an hour because of the rough roads. We were not able to take photos also because we didn't like to stop at those roads. Seeing someone on those roads was very rare so it was a little eery. I heard some stories about NPAs and whatnots there, lolz!

Once we reached my officemate's house (his name is Clinton), he then offered us to check out Bet and Choy Farms. It was a place with swimming pools with one the largest I have seen personally. It was like a child's dream destination, pools, mini zoo, fishing and water parks all in one. The owner, according to Clinton was a former mayor with a vague background. Hmmm, maybe that's why the place was grand. Hehehe! We didn't pay a penny courtesy of Clinton and I didn't ask how much he paid as well.
After that, we were craving for our lunch, native chicken soup. :)
It rained after our lunch so it held us back.  The rain took an hour or so before it stopped. After that, Clinton gave me a tip that Sea Jet, a fastcraft, actually accept a motorcycle as a passenger. So instead of waiting for the Lite Shipping Vessel, we tried to inquire about Sea Jet in Tubigon Port. And yes, they actually accept motorcycle for a lesser fee, Php500. Lite Shipping was Php700+.

So from Catigbian, we then headed to the port of Tubigon. The roads from Catigbian to Tubigon were nice and have some enjoyable twisties where some where tight, almost hairpins.
We reached the port at around 2:30 in the afternoon and the next Sea Jet take off is 4:00PM. So, we still have one and a half hour to relax and play at their park.
They also had Alberto's nearby so we filled out tummies as well.
And that was it. Bidding goodbye to Bohol brought a little weight on our hearts but we have to go home by then. Trekking the port road to the fast craft and watching the scenes left and right was a little dramatic. :) But we will come back Bohol. We owe it to you to go back and be part of a successful tourism. Until next time, Bohol!
We arrived at almost 6PM in Cebu with our minds and hearts still in Bohol. Char! Hehehe!
