Cebu Loop - Mandaue City to Bogo City

Welcome to our Cebu Loop Series. This is the first part of a total of 8 blog posts. The original plan was really a Northern Cebu Loop because we have already done our Southern Cebu Loop last Holy Week vacaction. But along the way, we managed to change our course and do a whole Cebu Island Loop (on coastal roads) instead.

Bogo City is located on the northern part of Cebu. From our place at Mandaue City, we started the ride at around 6:30AM. The weather was nice. The sky was clear yet not so hot since it's still early in the morning. So here's the whole story of our ride to Bogo City in pictures.

This is the weather. Mostly clear skies, cool breeze. Really nice to have a long ride.

At around 7:AM, the sun was getting hotter but still bearable especially if you are riding a motorcycle since the wind cools you down.

The riding family shadows. :)

Reached Catmon. The roads in Catmon are mostly fine. Especially the asphalt (or tarmac?). We don't really like the cement roads but it's definitely better than rough roads. Cement roads are still bumpy. Lots of twisties here as well in Catmon.

Like this one small twisty road here. :)

We reached Luyo and there was another road going to Tuburan. We were going to check out Molobolo Spring but we also want to do our Northern Cebu Loop so we opted to go straight to Bogo City instead of turning at this junction.

After that junction, you'll see this nice church.

Next up was Ilihan. I would have liked that welcome signs should be arched. It's more grand than this.

The breeze was getting warmer from the cold breeze of Sogod to Luyo. That's a good sign that we were nearing the city of Bogo. Yeah, cities have way hotter environment.

And we reached the city of Bogo at around 8AM. It's sad that it's already a city yet it's welcome sign is not grand. Oh well, maybe they are still working on it. I hope so. :)

Mesha's thirsty already so when we dropped by this gas station, Flying V. I don't know what's behind that brand name. :)

When we reached the town center of Bogo, we looked for the famous St. Vincent's Church. It was relatively easy to find.

A grotto at the outside of the church.

After saying some prayers and asking for safe ride, we prepared to take off and look for some place to have some breakfast. Time check was 8:30AM.

My princess asked for Jollibee and since Bogo is already a city, we thought that they should have a Jollibee branch somewhere here. It took a couple of minutes to find it because their large signage fell off during the earthquake.

We decided to take out our breakfast and instead have our Jollibee breakfast in the town's park.

At the park, my princess couldn't wait to try their facilities.

After our breakfast and after our princess took some time to play in the playground, we decided to complete our stay here by obviously a photo op. :)

So, there you go! Next up is the little longer than anticipated ride to Tuburan via Daan Bantayan and San Remegio.

Ride Safe! Ride Scoopy! Godspeed!
