Our plan for this year's summer vacation was to go to Camotes Islands. Our planned big activity for the island was the Camotes Islands Loop. We were also planning on going to the different beaches, caves and waterfalls in Camotes. Those were basically the activities for the 4 holidays of Holy Week.

3:30 AM on a Holy Thursday and we were awake and ready to roll. We prepared everything the night before so all we got to do was to drink some hot choco and be on the road.

About to leave home.
Air and gas up at Shell Maguikay, Mandaue.

We reached Danao Port at 4:40AM and we were quite astonished (strong word, lolz) by the huge amount of people there. The line in getting the tickets reached the highway, vehicles were parked all over. We should have expected this turn out because it was Holy Week. But because we really like to go to Camotes, we patiently fell in line and waited.

By 7:00AM, we moved from our line by about 2 meters. What? At this rate, we might be able to buy tickets the next day. We were still on the highway (again, the line reached the highway).

By 9:00AM, we still even haven't reached the gate. That's It! Let's move our Camotes Islands vacation someday where it's not peak season. Lesson learned the hard way. Maybe next time, Camotes Islands. :(

So we started to head back home. While on the road, we were talking about what our plan B will be. We were prepared for a vacation for a couple of days but it was just unfortunate that we weren't able to go to Camotes Islands. My wife called my cousin, asked her for some suggestions. We were quite disappointed so we couldn't think clearly (weh? :D).

So my cousin said, "You know what, let's go together somewhere in the south of Cebu. Our destination can be anywhere or possibly Moalboal. If you are prepared already for days away from home, then why not trek the whole Cebu."

I countered, "No, let's just tour South of Cebu so that we can have more time enjoying wherever we'll go." and she agreed, my wife agreed, we all agreed :).

At that point, we went back home first, leave some of the things behind and brought some other things for the Southern Cebu Loop that we have just planned. We planned to meet at 7-Eleven Caltex in Highway, Mandaue City.
