With that said, let me begin the story of our journey. We were still in Sumaguan, Argao and we planned to go back to the town proper to visit the first church.
1st Church: St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church in Argao.
And since we were still in Argao, Torta was impossible to miss. Okay, that was exaggerated. lolz. We dropped by at Chitang's Torta. Chitang's Torta's Torta is not the native one. If you really want to taste the native Torta, drop by at the Carmen's Carenderia in Argao. It's the most famous eatery in Argao IMO.
2nd Church: Sanctuary Castle of Mama Mary in Simala, Sibonga.
More pics at the Monaster of the Holy Eucharist. We also took a light breakfast here. We ate what we just bought in Chitang's Torta. lolz.
3rd Church: Nuestra Señora Del Pilar Church in Sibonga
The facade of the Church in Sibonga.
And we bought pop corns along the way. Am not a big fan of pop corns so my wife and daughter were the ones who ate them. And they have a nice place to put it while we were riding. lolz.
4th Church: St. Catherine of Alexandra Church in Carcar
The front of the church in Carcar was a little busy.
5th Church: San Isidro Labrador Parish Church in San Fernando.
A family selfie before we took off for the next (6th) church.
6th Church: Señor Santo Niño de Cebu Church
This is where mass is heard because the old church cannot accommodate the number of devotees.
We lit some candles here and said some prayers.
View from the 2nd floor of the area where mass is heard.
The facade of the church still had the evidence of the strong 7.0 magnitude earthquake that originated in Bohol.
Couldn't help but took some shots at these standing balloon penguins being sold in front of the church.
7th Church: St. Joseph Parish in Mandaue City, Cebu. Also it felt nice to be back home.
We lit some candles here and said a little prayer.
And that completed our Visita Iglesia. Below is a review of the routes we took for the whole Holy Week Summer Vacation.
This was our route from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday.
Then this is our Visita Iglesia route.
So all in all, nearly 400 kilometers Cebu South Loop with multiple stopovers. It was fun, it was fulfilling and it was spiritual. Our vacation to Camotes didn't went through but hey, Cebu has a lot more to offer but Camotes, you are not off the list. One day, we'll visit you. :)
